About Us

Thames Luxury Charters was formed in 1993 and is owned by Chris Livett and his wife Belinda. The Livett family have worked and owned companies on the River Thames in London since 1710.

Chris was the youngest Master of the River Thames "Company of Watermen & Lightermen" and is a Waterman to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

We aim to provide you with the level of care and attention you would expect from the owners and operators of the boats! Our focus is on excellence at every level; including the customer service received from our event management team, the warm welcome and attention to detail during your event and of course the quality of the fleet of river boats themselves.

The Queens Diamond Jubilee

2012 was a momentous year for Thames Luxury Charters as we were privileged to be a part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The successful celebration of the Queens 60th year on the throne was the culmination of over two years of hard work by the Pageant organizing team. Director, Chris Livett was part of the organizing committee and dedicated an enormous amount of his time in making sure the pageant was something that would cement itself in British history. On the day, he was incredibly honored to be invited to sail on the Royal barge as it made its way down the river.

The Olympics Opening Ceremony

Only a few months after the Jubilee, we were then asked to assist with the Olympic opening ceremony.

Following weeks of rehearsals, vigilant security measures and tight-lip, sporting legend and British hero David Beckham surreptitiously left the Thames Luxury Charters office and was ushered onto Butler’s Wharf Pier. Managing Director, Chris Livett and Project Coordinator Ed Livett played hosts to the Beckham’s on board the M.V. Erasmus before boarding the Blade runner speedboat to deliver the Olympic torch.
