Chris is the past Master of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen, the youngest Master of the company in over 400 years. Nigel has been the largest organiser of Thames river parties for over 30 years and is frequently credited with being the originator of the concept of shared parties for groups back in 1967.

The Directors at the outset recognised the requirements of organisers to have the option for their guests to have access to fresh air as well as the security of being completely enclosed.
