Last Minute Thames Boat Hire in London — June & July Availability
Summer on the River Thames is something entirely its own. The light arrives early, the city hums with a particular kind of energy, and the skyline — Tower Bridge, The Shard, and the City glittering in the warmth — is at its very most spectacular. If you have been considering a private Thames event for June or July and have yet to commit, the good news is this: dates are still available.
At Thames Luxury Charters, our owner-operated fleet of three exquisite private charter vessels — the Dixie Queen, the Elizabethan, and the Edwardian — still has availability across June and July 2026 for a range of events and group sizes. We will have a bespoke proposal with you within 24 hours of your enquiry.
Why a Last-Minute Thames Charter Works Beautifully
There is a persistent assumption in event planning that the best experiences require months of preparation. On the Thames, that simply is not the case. Some of our most memorable events have come together in a matter of days — and because our Events Management Team handles every detail from catering to crew to pier coordination, the workload on your side is minimal.
A last-minute Thames charter is not a compromise. It is a decision to do something extraordinary, quickly. Our bespoke services – FoodbyDish catering, a fully licensed bar, entertainment and décor – are all available at short notice, subject to availability.
Events We Can Still Host in June & July 2026
Whatever the occasion, there is a Thames charter that fits it. Here is what we are still able to accommodate across our fleet this summer:
Corporate Events & Client Entertainment
Summer is the peak season for corporate boat hire on the Thames — and for good reason. An evening afloat, with London's skyline as the backdrop and a seamlessly managed event from our dedicated team, is simply the most compelling way to entertain clients or reward your team. Our vessels can accommodate corporate groups from ten to 620 guests, with AV facilities, FoodbyDish catering, and full bar service all available at short notice.
Summer Parties, Birthdays & Celebrations
June and July are among our most popular months for private celebrations — birthdays, hen parties, anniversaries, and end-of-year team socials. If you are looking for party boat hire in London this summer, do not assume it is too late to book. Speak to our team, and we will find the right vessel, the right date, and the right package for your group.
Dinner Cruises & Intimate Events
For smaller groups, our Edwardian is the ideal vessel for a summer dinner cruise — her open upper deck makes for an exceptional riverside dining experience on a warm June or July evening. Catering from FoodbyDish, a curated wine list, and the Thames at golden hour: it is about as close to perfect as an evening in London gets.
Wedding Receptions
If you have a summer wedding coming up and are still searching for the right reception venue, a Thames wedding reception is the alternative that no hotel ballroom can match. We have hosted wedding receptions at short notice before, and our team is experienced at making the process feel entirely effortless for the couple.
June and July dates are still available — but they are going. Enquire today, and we will have a bespoke proposal with you within 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it really possible to hire a Thames charter boat at short notice?
Yes, absolutely. Thames Luxury Charters owns and operates its own fleet, which means we have direct control over availability and can confirm dates quickly. We regularly accommodate bookings made with just a week or two of lead time, and our Events Management Team is experienced at bringing events together swiftly without any compromise on quality.
Do you have availability in June and July 2026?
Yes — dates remain available across June and July 2026. Availability changes daily as enquiries come in, so we strongly encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to check your preferred date. A bespoke proposal will follow within 24 hours of your enquiry.
How quickly can you put a proposal together?
We commit to providing a bespoke proposal within 24 hours of receiving your enquiry. In most cases, particularly for smaller events or repeat clients, we can confirm much sooner than that. Simply call or email us, and we will get the process started immediately.
Can you still provide catering and entertainment at short notice?
In most cases, yes. FoodbyDish, our exclusive catering partner, is experienced at short-notice event menus and can accommodate most dietary requirements. Entertainment options, including DJs and live music, are subject to availability, but we will always present you with the options we can confirm at the time of your enquiry.
What is the minimum number of guests for a last-minute booking?
We cater for groups as small as eight guests on our Edwardian vessel, up to 620 guests on the Dixie Queen. No minimum prevents a short-notice booking — we will always advise on the most appropriate vessel for your group size.
Where does the boat depart from?
Our home pier is Butler's Wharf Pier, just along from Tower Bridge on the south bank of the Thames — ten minutes from London Bridge station and twelve from Tower Hill tube. We can also accommodate departures from Westminster, Embankment, Tower Pier, and Greenwich Pier, subject to availability.
